Survival Skills for Men

Success Is Built In…..

Functional Skills

All programs are skill-based. Participants learn practical, functional skills in each of the 10 topic areas. The skills systematically build a foundation of competence and confidence. The scope and sequence of each workshop is carefully constructed.

Support Group

Each Survival Skills workshop serves as a support group. When people learn new skills, they are often taken outside of their comfort zone. An encouraging, safe and supportive environment is paramount for effective learning.

Non-expert Model Delivery

A facilitator as opposed to a teacher delivers the workshops. The facilitator assumes a peer relationship, serves as a role model and guides participants to find their own answers and solve their own problems.

Behavioral Methodology

The programs are based on sound learning principles and behavioral methodology. They focus on promoting optimal learning and lasting behavioral change. Educational principles built into the Survival Skills for Men programs are: shaping, fading, error-free learning, response time, reinforcement, and generalization.
